MAS is an architectural and interior design studio with experience in commercial and boutique restaurant and hotel projects in California, as well as custom high-end single family residential projects in California and Florida.

Founder Jorge A. Marièn started his design journey at the in University of Florida where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Design before moving to Los Angeles to pursue an MArch2 form SCI-Arc.

After working at The Jerde Partnership and Callas Shortridge Architects, Jorge collaborated with, and eventually became part of the Studio Sofield West team in Los Angeles, where, as a designer, he was involved in designing exclusive interiors and custom furnishings to compliment collectible vintage and one of a kind decorative pieces.

In 2000, as Co Founder / Director of Project Locus, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, and out of common goals and mutual architectural interests with his partners, Project Locus was created with the intention of filling a void in professional practice at the level of service in addressing critical problems affecting undeserved communities. Project Locus was one of the first organizations on the ground in New Orleans’ 9th ward to be involved in helping with the re-building efforts after Hurricane Katrina and helping rebuild the House of Dance and Feathers, a local neighborhood museum and archive preserving the local social club and bead-work traditions founded by Ronald Lewis, as well as Lewis’ own home.

Closer to home, projects like the OnRamp Arts Community Center at the Old Fire Station #6 in Echo Park, CA. help create a safe and supportive after school space for neighborhood kids to learn multi media arts.
